Hi,
Recently a friend of mine ran her Norton Virus
Scan, and it found 8 Viruses it said, but it won't let
her DELETE or QUARANTINE them. The Virus that
seems to have gotten into her computer says ...
Loader.exe Downloader.Trojan. I've been looking
and the actual name appears to be just
Downloader.Trojan. She disabled the system restore,
and started the computer in safe mode, and
rescanned many times, but they remain. This
computer is used for her work. She says it appears
to be OK, but we would definitely like to get rid of
these viruses. Can anyone give us any help. We've
done everything we can find from the Norton site.
Thanks for any help...
The computer is fairly new, high speed, and huge
hard drive. Very important to her work. Thanks

The online scan at PC Flank may well find something her Norton software did not--and a solution. Try the scan at:

Solarian

There is a realitively new trojan out there that also uses loader.exe ...

Norton will call it trojanDownloaderThe files found not deletable...are they in the system volume information folder? She will have to turn off system restore, reboot...that will purge all the restore points and the virus/trojan.
Once computer is clean then don't forget to turn on system restore back on again.
Windows locks the system restore file from any modifications by any programs including antivirus which is why virus cannot be removed from there.Good luck

also run disk cleanup,start-all programs-accessories-system tools-disk cleanup.
put checkmarks in all available boxes and click ok, then click yes.
that trojan is ,at first in temporary internet folder, and possibly temporary files folder.
