Notes:
Windows ME...Earthlink dsl connection...Dell system...IE 5.5.I recently got hit with the JS Seeker worm/virus. NAV found it and quarantined it, and then I deleted it. I have not had any operating problems, but my dsl speed has dropped from 950-1000 range down to the 200 range.
I have heard that the klez virus can affect connection speed. How about JS Seeker? Any ideas if I have overlooked something really simple?

I'd run an online virus scan at either Panda or House Call to make sure you are virus free
Good luck

Eyar,
Yeah know what u mean. I had JsSeeker, Mcaffee detected it, deleted it. and that was it. but my kazaa did drop at a stupid rate.
That kazaa virus u have, the problem is as follows:-
The virus copies itself as much as it can, renaming files, in a wide range of names varying, from films to games, essentail software, mostly what kazaa users namely newer users would search for.
The plan, sorry i mean virus, well think about it. someone searches for a file, which is the virusee's drive your connection will slow down through kazaa. My kazaa has totally come to a halt and i cant even start it. The Key is to keep changing your shared folder and use preventative maintence. cleaning suspect files, especially ones that say there, like Spiderman auto downloader, any that seems too good to be true usually are.
Mcaffee harp on about gettin the latest patch, but there explination of extraction of .DAT files are getting more and more sensless every time they are released. Of course you can get the elite edition or something which does it all itself...
F**k them, im going alone. Ground Level Zeros the best option at hand.
