Comment:

My laptop has either a combination of adware and
malware virus. I can't run Malwaresbytes or HJTinstall
to see a log. When i go online and type anything into
the search engine it take me somewhere else and the
search engine changes randomly from search to
search.

What can I do to be able to run my programs to get rid
of these viruses?

Help!

Mike

Mike, Go into the C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware folder and right click and rename the Mbam.exe file to something else but keep the .exe extension (e.g. mike.exe). You should then be able to run it.

I'm assuming that C: is the letter of your hard drive that Malwarebytes is installed on.

Note: After you get rid of the virus/malware you can the go back and rename it Mbam.exe

Error message:

Cannot rename mbam: Access is denied.

Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the
file is not currently in use.

I tried it in Safe mode and it's the same error.

What to do now?
