Our home PC looks to be infected by the conflictor worm and I would like to know if Norton can clean it up if it is purchashed. We currently do not have Norton anti-virus protecting our computer.

The correct spelling is Conficker (not conflictor) worm. Conficker is also known as Downadup. See link below.

Conficker Worm

Notice the word WORM in there?

People get worms because they fail to get their "Windoze Updates".

We were warned about the "Conficker Worm" 5 months before it struck.

Only users who had turned off "download Critical Updates automatically" were infected!
