can i trace a keylogger?

is there anyway to find out when a keylogger was installed on my system, and where it came from? msbeta found it and i have it in quarentine, but i would like to know where it came from. thanks.

yeah you can do it but, it may not be worth the work as it may not have gotten on your pc from someone trying to hack you.

This may be helpful to no one, or not be found by anyone to whom it could be helpful... But, wanted to mention that in a thread at another very reputable forum (not sure I've seen peop link to other forums here so don't know if it's ok?), it appears to have been concluded that AOL 9.0's built-in spyware scanner may be generating false positives on "advanced keyloggers," stemming from doing a *Spywareblaster update!!* (Meaning, it falsely hits on something normal in the update.)
AOL's scanner is from Aluria (sp?), so Aluria spyware scan users should be aware of this too. Maybe it also happens with other products. (I had gone info surfing because the scanner informed me that I had an advanced keylogger, and while I know these things can happen to anyone, I probably have as few risk factors for that particular kind of thing as a person can have...)
Summary: how can I view a video without the file being loged or recorded in windows history or registry? So no one knows that someone has being watching xyz video. I whould like to know how to do that in win X...
