You might want to read this thread about it at spywareinfo.com

http://www.spywareinfo.com/yabbse/index.php?board=10;action=display;threadid=2474

If that link doesn't work, go to spywareinfo.com's forums, go to the spyware forum, spywatch, thread is TurboTax Spyware?

The thread has been read over 10,000 times!

Heres what i did to prevent it from running. Go to settings->control panel->Administrative tools->Services

Look at the list for c-dilla

Right click it and select properties, then under start up type select disabled.

Hello All,

Here's the experience I had just last night.

I installed TTax2002 on a Win 2k PC about 2 weeks ago but haven't really used it yet. Last night, that PC was warping out, wouldn't boot right, screen froze, kinda ugly stuff like that; had to boot to "Safe Mode" to start working on it. The cause appeared to be the service that would start CDAC11BA.exe. Disabling the service allowed for a no-problem boot. A Google search lead me to this site, among others.

Sure enough, deleting CDAC11BA.exe and "Disabling" the service was ineffective. In fact, TTax would re-create the file and restart the service when it was re-started.

Configuring "Tiny Personal Firewall 3.0", installed on the PC, to deny the file CDAC11BA.exe any resource access rights and disallowing TTax to install/start/mess-with any services seemed to stop CDAC11BA.exe TTax does seems to run ok with out CDAC11BA.exe running. My extent of testing was only starting up TTax and printing a test page of a form.

Jon
