If the virus was made to attack the BIOS, yes. Some motherboard manufacturers have an antivirus program for the BIOS, because of this possiblity. If your BIOS is infected you clear the BIOS by using the jumpers or removing the cmos battery, just like you were resetting a password that you forgot. All the best!
