cacls issues

Specs: Windows XP
first i done the cacls command for access denine for my d drive and the command was sucessful lock the d drive after i unlock the d drive both the command was sucessful. but when i done the cacls command for my c drive the drive is shows access denine but now it was not remove or cancel, all the command for unlock or accessing the c drive was fail please help

Before you can change the permissions on a drive, folder, or file you must already have the authority to change permissions on that object (obviously). If this fails you may need to take ownership of the object first (you will need to be an Administrator, or possibly even the Administrator, to do this).

So what permissions are you trying to change, why, and are you logged on as Administrator? It's often easier to use the GUI rather than cacls.
