First of all, I'm really a newbie when it comes to computers, so please be patient.

About a week ago, I think I downloaded a virus or trojan or something. The computer screen turned blue and it said a lot of stuff and then it shut down. When it started back up, there were a ton of little messages that popped up in the tastbar that said that my computer was infected with spyware.

When I was online, many blank pages kept popping up. The computer is VERY SLOW now. At times it freezes. I checked the drives and the C Drive has a red X. If anyone could help (or know what is going on), I'd appreciate it very much.

I think this sis associated with the Vundo virus. Try "VundoFix": http://personal.ryantadams.com/2008...

Thanks for replying!

Edit: Ah okay, I didn't know. I did everything up till the HijackThis log thing, but since I read you should start your own thread, I did...

Anyway, was VundoFix supposed to get rid of the POS files? Cause mine are still there...

You're not supposed to post a Hijack This log unless someone asks for it.

Your post may be removed unless you edit that post and remove everything but a comment of some sort.

I think one reason was that HJT (& other) logs take up a lot of space & they can often be irrelevant to the eventual fix. Also analysing HJT logs needs a bit of experience & if the wrong items are fixed then the pc can be wrecked so waiting for an expert to request the HJT log means you can expect a definitive, correct response.

If you ran the VundoFix i suggested, you should now try manually delete the POS files. See if that clears everything up.
