Hi there, does anyone know how to bypass websense filter? (Apart from not using it :)) I've tried accessing proxy sites like megaproxy.com but it blocks them too. I've also tried entering the IP instead of the domain but it resolves it. Any ideas?

Did you try adding the ip for the site into your hosts file?

Also, try using an older version of Netscape...for some reason, I think it doesn't get filtered, but I haven't tried this yet.

Web filtering software is only as intelligent as the person(s) setting it up. You'd be surprised sometimes...

If websense is causing you so much trouble why not just uninstall it?

It is your PC/LAN correct? If not.. You will be breaking the rules and possibly a law or two by getting around it.. you may be breaking the rules by just attempting to get around it.

Imagine when you attempt to explain to your new employer why you were fired from your last job. "so i could go check out this geocities site" isnt usually a good nuff' response.

LOL very well said SMUOD...He can't uninstall websense because I'm pretty sure Websense is being used in his work atmosphere and it would be breaking office policies if he tries to uninstall it.
