Bundespolizei Ukas Virus Update

Specs: XP Professional
I've recently suffered this virus. It appears that a far more aggressive version is out now there. I couldn't access safe mode nor take ownership of my files by any method. When the hard drive was checked it was found that it had been unformatted i.e. totally knackered from a data perspective. It took a full factory restore to regain control of my PC.

This happened just 10 mins after running scans using both AVG and Malwarebytes free versions. I have now bought Malwarebytes full cover that scans in real time and should block this type of threat in future. This costs just £20 and is a one-off payment. It must be worth it.

If you didn't have real-time protection before bauying malwarebytes, no wonder you were hit by a virus. Everyone should have real-time protection and most of us have already known that for years

You were silly not to have it before.

I'm not totally daft - for some years I had been covered by AVG which had done the job satisfactorily for me - and millions of others. However, as viruses become more complex and virus writers launch tougher-to-crack variations on a theme it seems that having one anti-virus isn't enough while offerings such as Norton are over-sold, over priced and use so much memory it's ridiculous.

Not everyone is a computer whizz and not everyone is aware that Malwarebytes can be had for a single, one off payment unlike many other more expensive alternatives. I made my post here in the hope that it may assist a few other users.

So please, don't try to sound so superior. Clearly you are not or you'd have offered something more worthwhile than an attempt at mockery.
