I have a toshiba satelite and for no reason at all its asking for a built in hdd password.does anyone know away around this.toshiba service su**s i spent close to a $1000 6 months ago now its useless.A month a go i had to reset bios password that was never set it came on one day and asked for it that was a learning exp for me.I have talked to numerous techs and they say thousands of people like me are having this same problem with toshiba and toshiba customer service is doing nothing about it.Toshiba needs a class action law suit against them this is bulls**t i spend a $1000 on there product and they refuse to correct there built in hdd problem. any suggestions before i smash it with a bat or find a toshiba dealer throw it thru a window
I had the same problem on a Toshiba Laptop. I tried every option I could find. The only way to cure the problem is to reformat and re-install windows.
There is something in the Toshiba operating system that for some unknown reason makes up a generic password. The Laptop I worked on was only 1yr and 3 months old and the warranty had expired 3 months ago...go figure.
