Hey i have a question regarding internet security while browsing. Recently, i upgraded a patch for MY IE 6 at microsoft updates. Since then, i've experienced countless errors while surfing. (not the illegal operation one, but the one that asks if you want to send an error report, etc)

So, to avoid frustration, i've tried using my Windows explorer. I'm on a win98 OS, second edition. Is it safe? I know you can adjust browser settings on IE, privacy, cookie handling, etc; But what about windows explorer?

Being that im on an old OS, surely windows hasnt implemented too many security features while browsing on explorer.

Does this sound "safe", or should i just can IE and download opera, or netscape.

Thanks.

When you type a URL in Windows Explorer, does it not automagically become Internet Explorer? Check about in the help menu.

I don't trust IE. If you change the preferences, get a popup killer, virus scanner, etc., it's mostly usable, but I prefer the features in Mozilla Firefox anyway (Netscape is based on Mozilla code). Security is the icing on the cake.

hack, you can have my IPs (yes, I have two...):
