The new Opera browser encrypts the connexion to the address on the web you put in. Are there other browsers that do this ? I ask because a number of programs do not go with Opera (e.g. Roboform)

What do you mean "encrypts the connexion to the address?" Are you talking about HTTPS? If so, every modern browser has HTTPS support.

To JohnW

Maybe I am obsessed with safety on the internet, which got a boost because of this morning's message of a billion size hack of, mainly russian emails, but also my Gmail was attacked. I didn't have a password on my PC, but now installed one. I used the VPN possibility of Opera Developer 38.0.2213.0, but some things do not work (yet?).

I looked at your suggestions. Already had EPIC on my PC but did not use it because I found it was very slow. Only used it for PCBanking which also uses a digipass in combination with the bankcard for safety.

For my email I had already two step verification activated for GMail. I get confused with all the passwords one has to remember and was looking for a password manager, but found that EPIC also remembers passwords. So I'll stay with EPIC. Thanks for your help.

I don't use any password managers like Roboform, just keep a private record.
