Browser Redirection Malware Removal

Specs: Windows XP, Don't know offhand
How do I locate and remove browser redirect malware? I have run Spyboy S&D, ComboFix, SSD, and ClamWin and yet I have been unable to locate the cause of my browser being redirected to fraud web sites. I deleted all BHOs, ActiveX, removed QuickTime, examined by Services, it's got be stumped and frustrated!

Can someone help me with this? I can provide the DDS.TXT and Attach.TXT files if that's needed yet does anyone know off hand what the most likely component is that I can delete?

Oh, I also deleted IE-8, returned to IE-6 and still had the problem with both IE and FireFox. I removed FireFox, installed the latest version -- still had the problem.

About 6 days of hard effort failed to find the bad component. I even did a FindStr on every fie on the computer looking for any of the domain names that are being redirected to, no luck.

I ran CCleaner and MalwareBytes. CCleaner did not find anything however MalwareBytes found two registry entries that were suspicious and it claimed that my text editor -- which I have been using since 1978, no less, was infected so it removed both copies.

No joy, I still have the redirection malware. But at least I can add CCleaner and MalwareBytes to the list of free products that are unable to locate the problem.

Can you (or anyone else, for that matter) suggest a next step?
