Hello --
I've been having a recurring problem with my internet access. I use a laptop with a wireless card (modem and router). When I first start browsing, everything is fine, and fast. The, after about 20 minutes or so, everything gets very slow.....speed tests confirm that I start out fast and then get slow......if I shutdown, unplug my modem and router, and then reboot everything, I regain speed, only to loose it again. I've run Adaware, Spybot, CWShedder (all updated), have spywareblaster loaded, and have updated MacAfee virus protection? I've run hijackthis, but don't know enough to see if there is anything unusual.Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Have you tried this with a short Ethernet cable instead of just wireless?
Is there other systems connecting to the router, either by Ethernet cable or wireless (like from next door) and sharing your connection?
Have you installed all of the Windows Updates for the system (after 20 minutes the Windows/IE automatic updates kicks in and starts downloading un-installed updates unless this feature is disable both in automatic Windows updates, and in IE options)?

Thanks for the reply.......I finally caved in and called my ISP. They came out and checked everything.....after all sorts of attempts to blame my equipment, they agreed there must be something in the line.......I wanted to make sure I hadn't contracted some virus before I went for a hardware issue....-- Fanore
