Roe

Hi Roe:
Go to www.sarc.com. do a search and look up winfavorites.exe
There is a sheet to go into the registry to get rid of this piece of adware.George

Roe
You need to download a couple spyware/malware cleaner programs. You have more problems than bridge.
Once downloaded and installed update both.
In spybot you will need to click the online button, click search for updates, have all listed updates checked,(should be 6 listed),
at the top where it says unido europe click the down arrow and choose the EON australlia site, then download updates.
Spybot will restart itself.
Go offline and temporarily shut off nortons autoprotect to prevent conflicts.
Now hit the check for problems button.
Allow it to finish scan.
When done click remove selected problems.
Some will not be removed right away and spbot will want to start on next boot, click ok and reboot machine.
When scan is done click search and destroy, it will show another list. Have it fix all items in red again. close spybot and windows will finish booting. To set up ad-aware
Once the program is installed, click globe icon, click connect, install update.
shut down and restart ad-aware so updates take affect. To set up for full scan:
Click gear icon
under general have the bottom 3 things checked in startup and safety.
Click scanning on left
Check everything you can in there
Click tweak at left
Expand the + beside scanning engine
Make sure these are checked:
unload recognized processes during scanning
Include basic ad-aware settings in logfile
Include additional ad-aware settings in logfile
Expand the + beside cleaning engine
Make sure these are checked:
Let windows remove files in use next reboot
Delete quarentined objects after restoringClick proceed
Go offline and disable nortons autoprotect.
Click start on bottom of ad-aware window
Check "use custom scanning options"
Makke sure "activate in depth scan" is checked.
Click next to start scan.
When done...right click in window, click select all at top of list.
Reboot when done.Post fresh hijack log and we will clean up the rest.
I never give up!

i cant get rid of bridge.dll error message on windows start up. it isnt even in the hijack log

I have the EXACT SAME PROBLEM as LordRaven - could anybody tell me what this message means, and IF it affects the operation or performance of any of my programs? Any advice would be GREATLY APPRECIATED! Thanking you in advance!
PS - I have rebooted my computer (Microsoft 2000) three times - and each time - this error message has appeared.

I just fix the same problem with my 2k machine. It was fairly simple but you have to edit the registry. However, first I would recommend you run an updated Adaware if you haven't already.
Then go into regedit and goto
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\RunYou should seen a value of something like
C:\Winnt\Downloaded Progam Files\??Bridge.dll
Delete the entire key. That should fix the problem. As always, when messing around in the registry, make a backup first unless you are real comfortable with it.
Hope this helps and good luck.....
Dick

LordRaven
First make a seperate folder in your "my documents" folder, put hijackthis.exe in there.
It makes backups and will put a bunch of weird looking files with your documents, making recovery difficult if we need it.Start hijackthis again and place a check in front of the following:

Close all windows except hijack and click "fix checked"
Reboot the machine...hopefully the error is gone.
The bridge.dll entry is there...in with the list of 04's.
Easy enough to miss...these logs make ya crosseyed after a while...lol

Hello, I have this same problem when I load into one of my three usernames.
I followed Sputty's directions right up until he said delete. I saw a file that was somewhat like the one he said, but not quite.
--rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\bridge.dll",Load--
Can I delete this? Thanks in advance
TomWilly
Ownt...

Hi Tom
Yes, delete the registry entry that you specified. That will get rid of the entry that automatically tries to run bridge.dll.
That SHOULD fix the problem. If you have any further questions, feel free to drop me a line directly...
Dick

search from registry...edit->registry->bridge.dll
delete all entries.......

yeah, the easiest way to fix the bridge program from starting in windows is got to run and type in msconfig . from there go and find bridge and uncheck it (it should be checked if it is running in the background) also uncheck any other spyware that you think may be there

Removing it from MSCONFIG was my first try. In fact I did that about 20 times. The Rundll...bridge.dll, load
simply reinserts itself. The file is exactly where it says it can't find it. it I have saved to file all of the REGISTRY solutions and will try that later ---"gulp".I am running Win 98 SE and the offensive line shown by MSCONFIG is:
RUNDLL.EXE"C:\WIN98REL1\SYSTEM\Bridge.dll",load
