After getting virus and cleaning with TrendMicro I am having all kind of errors and it won't boot except for wanting a password which I don't have. It won't even boot in safe mode any more.

JanZ, I presume this is a laptop?
If it is a bios password you will be out of luck unless you contact the manufacturer's techsupport, be sure to have your bill of sale and other info available.

Sounds a bit fishy to me when you say "except for wanting a password which I don't have"

Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers

I believe it's the Windows XP password it wants. I've tried all the steps that Microsoft advises and still nothing.

Reset password and you are in.

Look for a WINTERNALS ISO on the net (torrent or p2p)
Burn a CD and fix it.
