BOO/Tdss.d detected in MBR

Specs: Windows Vista, Centrino

Symptoms?

1. All icons on the desktop are gone
2. Start menu items are gone
3. When you click on any program you find, this warning comes up:
"This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create
an association in the Set Associations control panel."

Solutions that have failed:

1. Kaspersky's Tdss killer
2. aswMBR
3. Malwarebytes
4. Loaris Trojan Remover
5. Avira - detected it and denied access but still, virus is affecting laptop
6 bootrec.exe/fixmbr and /fixboot commands in the repair windows mode through dos prompt

try Hitman Pro and fix all it finds. If that doesn't work, combofix will probably do it for you....follow the online instructions "CAREFULLY" and you should be fine:

There's a new variant of TDL4 floating about, it's got an updated VFS, also it's MBR code is slightly different, so some outdated tools won't work.

Ensure you're choice of disinfection is actually working by booting into a recovery tool (a nix environment is best) and getting a copy of the MBR pre and post disinfection. A quick Checksum will tell you if anything's different.
