Boot Failure

Hello, today this morning i started my computer up and it didnt make it to the windows xp pro screen it sayed Boot Failure:system halted, does anyone know out there what that is and what i should do? could it be that the day before i installed Pop-Up Stopper?after that message came up i went for ctrl alt delete and it booted up fine after..Thanks

P.S.i scanned with norton 2002 after that happened, and i done a house call scan yesterday..

hello
gointo safe mode and chose a restore point from befor you installed pop program. i think its your problem.if no restore point delete pop program.and clean it from the registry.if you cant get into safe mode.
you may have to use start up boot disk. and do a scanreg/restore.
at the a: type cd\window\command than click enter
next c: type scanreg/restore
to pick a good restore point it will have "started" beside them
if none of the above work you may have to do fdisk/mbr
be veary carefull with what you do from boot disk its final once you click enter.
you could allso delete that pop up program from boot disk. if you know what folder its in and the dos commaned for deleteing it from boot disk.sorry i dont know that command.

thanks for your reply, i uninstalled it from my computer and i should go into that safe mode and all that cause im not really that smart and might do unecissary damage, i started my computer up twice now and that hasnt come up yet, and i hope it never will, do you know or think you know of what cause it do to that, once again thanks..
