I want to remove/block invisible requests for confirmation that I read an email, also known as "Delivery Notification To:" amongst other names. In the cases I refer to, the recipient is NOT aware that confirmation has been requested unless they check the headers, and has no option to refuse confirmation. I don't want to block the sender's email, just prevent them from receiving confirmation of what I did with it. (Spammers request these receipts too of course, and I'd have no problem with completely blocking them, but in this case it is just a nosy acquaintance I'd love to foil... but not start a war ;)

Problem is, I use AOL email and have verified with them that they offer no option to remove those header fields or however it is done in other programs. (*Fellow* AOL members can always check if and when their email was opened and unfortunately have no choice in that. But I am referring to NON-AOL members who use email programs that do this. These are not just the "sneaky" programs you can buy -- a program like Outlook can secretly track the info too.)

So... Is there any other way I can do this, yet still receive the person's email? Can a rule be created for this in my firewall or something (I have Tiny right now)? FYI, I know many would say "ditch AOL!!!" but that's a separate subject. ;^)

Thanks! :)
