Blinking ? icon in taskbar

Dell Dimension 2350 desktop
August 19, 2009 at 10:40:50
Specs: Windows XP
For about the past week, a square green icon with a white question mark has been blinking in my taskbar. Nothing appears when you hover over it. When you click on it (left OR right click) it opens IE8 and goes to this page of (my DSL provider) -- . Once there, there's no apparent shenanigans and it lets me log in and adjust preferences and the like -- and the ? icon goes away .....

until the next morning. I leave the PC on in power-save mode and when I wake up and wake up the screen, the ? is back.

AVG, Anti-Malware, Spybot, Ad-Aware scans come up with nothing.

Heres something to try.

Press CTRL + ALT + Delete
Look in the process list. Try looking for something that could be the source. Anything that may look suspicious.

If you find something that you don't recognize, Do a search for it on Google. Find out exactly what it is your looking at.
If you do find a process that google says is a virus. Then try searching on how to remove it, Or post it here & we'll look for you.
ALSO, it may not be a virus, It could be a part of some software you installed.

That is what i do when i come across something unusual anyway. Hope this helped.
