Hello, I'm looking for a "Good" hard drive cleaner,for win 98se. one that will wipe out traces of my on line & off line computer activity, delete history, temp files & do all the rest of the needed tasks to remove unwanted files. anyone know of the best.?? free or not, I just want the best.!! thanks, maxx

A high-powered electromagnet and some thermite is the only "really" secure way to destroy data used by computer (remeber to get the ram as well).
remember windows is not good for hiding stuff, unencrypted swap files etc, makes it diffult to truly destroy information. These programs just make it alot (if the program does a decent number of sweeps with different algothrims and gets everthing) harder to recover.
But if there's a big enough will there is normally a way.
Summary: You may need to print this. I use all these cleaners for W2K/XP, each one specialises in a different area, you will with use, get to know which ones suit your computer. Do not be supprised if hundreds...
