Comment:

I have been a loyal Norton antivirus customer, but it has failed me a couple of times before. Most of the time it cannot fix or delete the virus after it detect it, yet it can prevent it from harming my system. Now I got a new system and I wonder which new antivirus software I should use: Norton, Pc-cilian, panda, avg or ??? I have been to cnet, and other review site, and most of them only got 60+% positive user comment. Each has their own problem, so I don't know what to choose. I am looking for a reliable (stable) antivirus program, which doesn't crash my system, kidnap all my resources and slow down my computer and yet still pretty good on detecting virus and removing them! Anyone has any suggestions??? Thanks!

The Virus Bulletin is a good resource for antivirus results. There are three programs that I like: ESET's NOD32, SRNMICRO's SOLO and NAV. SOLO is not reviewed hardly anywhere, except by its users at CNET. I use it and it is good at cleaning/repairing problems. Take care and all the best!

Have heard and seen good things about SOLO and NOD32, but I personally use NORTON as it has been successful for me and I have no reason to change, BUT if it fails me, you could bet I'll be looking around.
I always help NORTON, everyday, in that I UPDATE the antivirus definitions exactly when they are released, often on a daily basis AND I practice SAFE, common sense
computing as to what web sites I'll visit
and/or download from AND very importantly,
I had scripts blocked, ActiveX cannot run,
and utilize a firewall and a hardware security device.

Fortunately, I have not been hit, but I would be shocked if it happened.
