No offence intended but IMHO 'what a waste of a website'. I haven't studied it real well but on first impressions (checking out all the links provided by JOE) it would seem that there has not been a test on how well an AV program does with window$ xp home this year. VERY selective tests. I don't think it favours any one in particular (LOL) but it would be nice if they put their '3 monthly tests' on a page together instead of listing them by AV programs.

Dog, you can go the Virus Bulletin and use the platform ratings. It is interesting to see how the vendors products score depending on the different Windows platforms.
It is at

http://www.virusbtn.com/vb100/about/index.xml

One other point is the vendors financially participate and are members of Virus Bulletin lab and are members of its association, and the other major rating service called ICSA labs. It must be a great disapppointment to have their product fail a test. Historically McAfee has one of the best testing records and is rated as one of the best antivirus programs by several testing labs.

But capt, there has been no xp tests since JUNE 04.
'One other point is the vendors financially participate and are members of Virus Bulletin lab and are members of its association'
It would appear to me that the vendors are not getting much value for their money.
i.e. AVG has completely changed, SP2 for XP has come out. Just my opinion though.

I see your point about having more frequent tests. There is a lot of good information available from their website though. I think it would be a real treat to go to Dublin, Ireland to attend their next conference. I think it would be interesting to meet some of the good people that work so hard at keeping us safe from the bad guys.
