Bandwidth Hijacking

I don't use wireless, but I do have a DSL modem with an antenna. The IS guy at work told me if worried about neighbors jumping on my bandwidth I should turn off the modem's wireless setting. Anybody know how to do that?

router cost $40 get a wired only router! - no need to lock it!

call the manufacture - type ip config then type the address in google and lock it.

How are you connected to your router...via a network cable? Most routers have a web interface which you can access from a browser on the network and turn off any unwanted services.
