Comment: Help!! after scanning computer with Norton antivirus i found a file with backdoor.trojan. After deleteing it everything was fine, but now computer is very unstable & will only start in safe mode, & sometimes wont even do that. Scanning with norton rescue discs shows no trojan.

Reply: (edit)What was the file that you deleted? If it was a crucial file for Windows, or another program.... that could be your problem. One reason I prefer Mcafee VirusScan, they give you the option of QUARANTINE for files infected so you can keep the file but just not allow access to it until you can figure out what course of action you want to take. If it affected and crucial Windows or program files, you may need to reinstall Windows and/or the programs affected. If you would like more assistance email me and I will see what I can do to help.

Reply: (edit)Norton also has a quarantine option. What was the name of the Trojan? Do you know the name of the file you deleted? If so, perhaps you can restore it from your Installation CDs.
