How can we get rid of this virus. Our computer is slow but barely functional. Norton Anti-Virus detects the virus but can't repair it. The virus file is located on c:\windows\system32\hlpden.dll

Symantec has a removal tool for your virus. Go to http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/backdoor.agent.b.removal.tool.html
to get it. I would turn system restore off, if you have it turned on(My Computer>properties>system restore and then restart the computer. I would then run the removal tool. After the system is clean, you can turn system restore back on if you like using it. HTH
