Hi, My net keeps disconnecting, and there is a file in my c folder that keeps appearing. It is avpx. I have searched for it on google, and I have a feeling it is some kind of dialer. I have tried cw shredder, spybot, ad aware, and various virus checkers, but nothing has detected it. If i delete it, it just reappears. I have hijack this, if someone can help me out??

Have you emptied your temporary internet files, turned system restore off, restarted the computer, and during the restart entered the safe mode and ran all your scans and deleted the culprit. When you say you have used virus checkers, are they the online antivirus ones like housecall, or did you scan for trojans at PC Flank. Have you tried looking for a trojan or dialer using a trial program like TDS(anti-trojan program)? Be sure are your programs are updated before you do the scans before running them while in the safe mode.

Thankyou, I will try some of those programs. The virus checkers I have used have been downloaded from the web mainly. Things like trend micro, avanti, anti vir personal edition. Any other ideas? Should I post a hijack this log? Thankyou.

I just used a hijack this log tutorial to go through my log, and it all seems fine. I couldn't see any problems.
