Looks to me as though Grisoft have taken a leaf out of Nortons book of late, the auto update on AVG7 free ed. is worse than useless.

I remember when I first installed it I was given the option to update from the Internet or a folder, how can I get the folder option back or where is it in the software, I cannot see it. All I keep getting from Grisoft is 'unable to make connection'.

My Internet access is fine in all other areas.

Mark,

to regain the update source option....

Open the Control Center, right click Update
Manager, select Properties, uncheck the option "Do not ask for the update source"
