bunk.... Downloaded AVG7, spent an HOUR trying to create the rescue disks. When it got to disk 4, it could not create some file, "or" creating the disks was "cancelled." I went through this process about 4 times. The floppies are new.

Anyone???

Thanks

Had no problem creating the rescue disks, but another issue which was more critical.

A friend and I have the same ISP (Earthlink). After installing AVG7, neither of us could access our e-mail accounts. No configuration we tried corrected the problem. We had no problem connecting to the Net, but were locked out of our e-mail accounts.

Oh oh....... and this morning, when I booted and made tea, I came back and AVG had tried to connect to the www to update, failed (which is good because my connected is password-protected) and then jammed and required AltCtrlDel.

I think AVG may be on the way out, on MY computer.

They HAD to mess with it..... "improve" it.

Hey, maybe I can this thread right off the board without anyone else posting - if I'm lucky.

I was able to create the rescue disks (4). I searched, and a number of people have had a similar problem, which I think is an instructional thing. Anyway, by following the advice here:

I got it working.

When you updated your AV did you allow the new version of AVG thru your firewall , since it is a new version you have to specifically allow this thru your firewall , this may be blocking it .

Hi;
I didn't do the rescue disks route, but definitely experienced the same difficulty with my e-mail being blocked. No amount of reconfiguring with AVG or Zonealarm could fix it. I need both e-mail and an AV so I ditched AVG for the timebeing and am using Avast, which is really good. Available at :

Cheers;
Swinny
