Subject: AVG7 dials on bootOS: W98seCPU/Ram: P3/450/128/13 |
Comment: When I boot in the morning, AVG7 (free version) tries to dial so as to update, but since my dialler does not have my password in memory, it can't dial. (Good! I don't want it to.) As a result, both AVG and the dialler require AltCtrlDel and 'END TASK' to get them clear. Anyone else have this problem? Can I disable the auto-dial mechanism? Thanks. d

Reply: (edit)Smifff, you seem knowledgeable about AVG7, so hopefully you can help me, too. Sometimes my computer freezes and when I click CTRL+Alt+Del, it says avgcc is not responding. Do I have some setting wrong that causes this to happen occasionally. If I shut AVG down, the computer goes on as if nothing strange had happened. Any help would be appreciated.
