Comment: Ok, i installed avg on my win98 partition, but after that its been having a hard time staying stable and restarts after it boots. Im wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if they know of a good virus scanner. (for free) I wake up at 6 o'clock every morning, no matter what time it is.

Reply: (edit)I know many people who use WIN 98 SE and AVG FREE. It works fine for them. Google AVAST, it's another free AV scanner that will do the job. If you post more symptoms of your problem, then maybe it can be discovered that the problem lies elsewhere, and maybe the AVG link is coincidental.

Reply: (edit)You always get the blue avg screen on boot up with 98 as it's checking for boot virus, apart from that you need to change the time for it to do a full scan as this is set to 7am by default,as is the update. I dont know, But somebody does.
