and also useless at detecting RECYCLER and SystemRestore. Anyone else noticed this ?

can anyone give me a 100% guarantee that the other AV like ' avira ' and 'avast' can detect all 3 during Shielding not scanning for those few of you that actually know the difference between Shielding and scannin viruses !!!

Avast seems real good with real-time protection, I've had to abort my connection quite a few times, saved by Avast, also, you don't need scheduled scans. No muss no fuss

Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers

there is no guarantee with any free ones and having only 1 thing is like suicide try getting malware byts and a firewall because that will give you greater protection instead of relying on one thing it has layer which make it much harder for malware to sneak through

If you want a guarantee, buy a toaster.

config.msi is a holdover from an earlier FAILED install.

You MAY have viral problems but config.msi isn't one of them.

Why would you want an AV program that recognizes "System Restore and Recycler", they are not virii?

I have 2 pcs with exactly the same version of XP pro.

Its my desktop pc thats having these issues, while my Laptop pc
remains fine. Both pcs have free avg av on them.

No Recyler
No System Restore
on the Laptop

However one good thing is that config.msi has not come back
yet after I deleted it.
Both pcs have Sytem Restore turned off , so neither pcs
should have a Sytem Restore folder , but the desktop does.
