... and I dont want it to.

What I mean is, when I open MSWord, Excel etc, it takes a good 15 seconds, because it is scanning the document. I cant find a way, except for disabling AVG, to stop this. It is AVG 7.1. Perhaps I should get 7.5 first of all?

A recent AVG update can cause problems for users still using outdated versions of AVG (version 7.0 or 7.1), or if AVG Free was previously used on the same computer.

Upgrade is good, at least its supported.

It appears I actually DO have AVG 7.5

I was away from my computer at the time of posting so my mistake.

Now how do I stop it from slowing Office down at launch?

"If you like to deactivate this plugin, you don´t have to uninstall it. You can deactivate it running this command from the Start->Run menu: „regsvr32.exe /u avgoff2k.dll“. You can activate the plugin again using this command: „regsvr32.exe avgoff2k.dll“."

As it happens I did an update to the latest one straight from Grisoft and was able to de-check the Office 2000 component at install.

Office is fast once again.

Thank you, and have a nice day.
