Did you try to re-install the program?, if no, that may help.

sometimes programs have a "repair" option when doing the add/remove on windows, if theres one; try it.

the last thing i can think that may help is to use "Windows Installer CleanUp Utility" this program will get rid of any traces involving the AVG installetion. i'll recomend to do this in "safe mode", and then delete the AVG program folder manually, restart the computer, and do a re-installetion of AVG, finally do the normal uninstallation of the antivirus.

-This are the things that i will try out. I havent expirence the same problem, so i cant guarantee you that it will work. to have a better solution for this specific problem you should contact AVG suport to help you out.

-I hope I was helpful. bye.

unfortunately i am a technoretard surrounded by electronic weapons of mass destruction. meaning, i turn it on, it works, i turn if off. everything else is a problem. anywho, i managed to get into the 'program" page and saw lines of avg assembled there. i could take out some with delete, but the dozen dll's remain and i get warning from my compujter that my virus protection is off. i will not monkey with dll's. i did the avg forum and found others have the same problem. right now i'm relying on my google page to run interference . now i have to figure out which antivirus i should run, and whill it run into the dll's of the avg? thanks to all. i read this site regularly and have learned much from it. to those who volunteer the answers, my heartfelt thanks.
