Hello Everybody,
My avg virus program reports I have two files with malware. The files are located in
C:\system volume information\_restore\nero ultra, the files are a0703740.exe and a0703744.exe. A computer search found zero. I can't find this directory or folder. How can I rid my computer of these viruses.

thanking you in advance,
frank

Thanks Jabuck,
I was wondering where I could find the system volume information sector for future malware. I am sure I will be picking up goodies like this from those inventive hackers. Thank you though for the info from the norton crew,
frank

The system volumne information folder is located in C:\ and is not accessable for the most part and is a hidden system file. The restore folder is a hidden file located in C:\WINDOWS\system32 and can be viewed by going to start>control panel>folder options>view tab>check the circle beside "show hidden files and folders">apply>ok then navagate to the above path. No changes can be made to the files, any attempt will damage system restore. To my knowledge you cannot go into the file and delete files from it, Windows does it for you, it is just a snapshot of your system.

Since you just deleted the restore folder and let windows rebuild it for you,to make sure that you have a restore point go to start>run>type "msconfig",without the quotes>ok>launch system restore>check the circle beside create a restore point>next>name it anything>create>close >restart the computer for the changes to take place.
