Subject: AVG Finding virus T.exe, comes backOS: Windows 98CPU/Ram: Pentium 3/256MB |
Comment: While online AVG resident finds a trojan horse dialer T.exe and I heal it every time but it keeps finding it again, about 5 times every 15 minutes. How do I keep it from coming back? Neither AVG, Spybot or NoAdware is finding anything when I run it though sometimes Spybot finds something called Tibs. Joe

Reply: (edit)Get rid of NoAdware, see here: http://www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm Try downloading a2free which is primarily a trojan finder/fixer. Derek.W

Reply: (edit)Sorry, I used the old name "a2free". It is now called a-squared (but it is still free). The Beta at the start of 2004 was a bit rickety, some false positives etc., but it has come on leaps and bounds. I've been using it for some time, URL: a-squared Derek.W

Reply: (edit)Aw Shucks - still got the name wrong. URL in #2 is correct BUT it seems the freebie version is still called "a2free", despite it saying "a-squared" on the splash screen for the program. Look down towards the bottom of the page. The freebie is a-squared with certain on-line aspects disabled but is still well worthwhile. Gee, I think I've got it right at last. Derek.W
