AVG is no longer automaticly updating on either of our 2 XP computers, or my Vista laptop. AVG is version 7.5.503 I am now having to click "check for updates"

What is causing this to happen?

Just to confirm that it must be your machines because my AVG was still updating automatically on XP yesterday, when it got in my hair right in the middle of a "registry juggle". I went back to manual for good - always hated outside interference LOL.

Check that your settings haven't changed in the AVG Control Centre (right click tray icon).

A few questions:

Are they all running the free version?

Are you certain none of them are on the 30 day trial version (ie installed about a month ago)?

Did they all stop working on or about the same day?

Watch this forum too, because stacks of folk use AVG (particularly the free version). If there is some common problem there are sure to be others reporting the same symptoms. AVG also have their own forum.

Seems like there are no general complaints coming up anywhere so the only thing I can think of is some blocking issue, such as a firewall.

If you are using Zone Alarm then see this:

Otherwise I would raise a post on the AVG forum here:

I'm off now, I've supposed to have retired from this place LOL.

Yeah Cobra, that was my first thought too. Just seems odd that all three stopped at the same time so it made me think there might be something in common.
