I had a problem with a program, and I had to set the year of my computer clock to 2037 temporarily. Now I have a problem with AVG Antivirus: it no longer updates automatically, because the next update is scheduled for 7.9.2037... and it's a long long way there. :)
Is there a way to change the update year back to 2006? Otherwise I have to manually load the updates. :(

Just a thought, a few yrs back I had the same problem with AVG where I couldn't get updates and had to do them manually. So I got frustrated, uninstalled it and started using Avast and never looked back because of all the better features on avast....Like I said, it is just a thought and not a recommendation.

Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks

Is there something wrong with uninstalling and then reinstalling AVG?

That's what I did a couple of times. Just get the latest version of AVG free. Uninstall and reinstall, and everything should work just fine.

Yeah, I know reinstalling will fix the problem, but I thought there would be an "easier" fix. I just don't like uninstalling and reinstalling programs.

Speaking of Avast, I've used both AVG and Avast and found out that Avast takes up much more resources and memory than AVG and the updates load very slowly. That's why I'll stick with AVG.
