Comment: I have avg anti-virus 6.0 professional edition.I had a infected file given to me by my friend about 2 days back and AVG detected a w32.stupid virus in it.It gave me a warning and told me to clean the file by "running agv for windows".I clicked on the button but it just loaded AGV Main Centre. There was no sign of file scanning and removal! However during a complete test it detect that same virus and gave me options to clean and quarintine it.Is there any way by which i can make agv to scan and clean a particular file and not do a complete test to clean the virus?

Reply: (edit)Youshould be able to right-click on a file and select 'Scan with AVG' from the menu. This will scan only that selected file. Also, if you open the AVG main screen (eaither by the icon on your desktop or the start menu entry, not the system try icon) and go to the 'Tests' menu across the top, you can choose 'Removable Media Test' which will check floppies, CDs and other types of removable media, or choose 'Custom Test' and you can specify a folder or a drive partition to check. Reply: (edit)Right-click on it,and select "Scan with AVG" ...I have that option with the free version If that doesn't do it,go to Tests/Custom Tests, and navigate to the folder/file of your choice...again,this is in the free version.
