Hi Guys

I run avg regully and update whenever there is an update, today I ran a virus check and left it when I came back it had closed itself down bearing in mind it started by itself as I schedule it which seemed strange so I checked the log and fond that on 11 /9/06 a virus had been found and so too in the next check but the checks after that were clean although under MBR it says change, the PC didnt make me aware of there benga virus on the pc but it has been acting strange a little slower then usual ( ok now) but When I have speakers plugged in somtimes it made this really werid noise which sounded like those big metal rings which when eelectricty is passed through one it creates a spark taht passes to the other one ( werid or what?) normally I would format the PC but Im away from home tus all my OS discs so I cant for another few months at least. But firstly does anyone have any idea why avg didnt a tell me and why now its supposdly clean and what that were sound is connected to , the only oddity Ive found is in task manager there are 3 processors that are odd DATALA~1 and TRAYAP~1 and server~1
Sorry about my bad spelling but thank you for your help

robynsrodents, that is why I left AVG and moved on to Avast. Avast has realtime protection catching viruses on the fly so you don't have to run scans.
What I would suggest, is maybe, D/L Avast, disable your AVG protection, execute Avast and let it do a bootscan on reboot. You may find more culprits in that scan which you can move to the chest.
After that you can decide which AV to use, the choice is yours.

The weird sound thing...I'm not too sure of...good luck

Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks
