avg and bitdefender at same time???

i allready have avg pro with firewall,but i was thinking about using bitdefender pro as an on demand antivirus ( back up ). is it ok to use both. . (if i disable it in startup ). .will it update normally without any problems? and how good is this bitdefender pro 9 compared to avg pro?

If you are going to have a so called disabled backup, use AVG for it, as it is terrible at detecting and stopping worms/trojans.

That's why I don't use AVG any more. Avast gives me on-line coverage and pops up as soon as a virus is found, I don't get any surprises that way. Along with Avast I use Sygate Personal firewall...I feel pretty safe on-line

i already installed BitDefender 9 Internet Security .right now am using it as the "so called disabled backup". . looks fine . .

its firewall ,it it better than zone alarms?

can i disable bitdefenders firewall, keeping all other settings enabled and use zone alarm firewall? does this cause any conflicts? plz help

The softwares in question are both known to not be the best at " getting along with others".Make sure you can boot into safe mode as virtual drives like "Alcohol 120%" can prevent this.Would uninstall all of these, then install zonealarm first.Once installed, disable it and install bitdefender suite.Disable bitdefender and install AVG as backup only.Then enable bitdefender suite and if everything is okay so far, disable the bitdefender firewall and enable zonealarm.If they seem to be getting along, reboot your computer to make sure.

everything is working fine now . . .but i think zone alarm is slowing down my internet connection????

(i have slow 64 kbps connection)

and more thing . .can bitdefender scan a particular folder or file that i select? avg does that . .u know . right click and scan,but when i try to do domething like that bitdefender scans the whole system!!!

now its there after i restarted the computer , . .i did scan with bitdefender but it automatically quarentined some tools i had like thc hydra,pwdump . . .registry mechanic . .i have already scanned that with avg pro it didnt show anyproblem? is there anyway to set some rules not to quarentine these objects? plz help
