Hello. I just recently ran a virus scan of my computer with avast! free version and it found 8 infected files.
Whenever I try to delete the files through avast! it says "An error has occurred during the processing of 1 file(s)"
Or even when I try to move to the chest, repair it, anything, it just comes up with the error.
And when I try to go to the folders manually (which are hidden) and turn hidden files to be viewable, they won't show up!
By the way, the viruses (which avast! says are Win32:U... somethingorather (won't show the rest)) are...
PDF0844718871.exe
Activation_key.doc .exe
NNMA6766122.exe
MRDI8761223.exe
XI8656519924.exe
Exel_Invoice_NR719200.exe
WD6128922.exe
victims.exe
victims.exe
We always delete suspicious e-mails and never open files from people we don't trust.
I use Windows XP Home Edition.

Please help!

depending on where they are located you may have to
turn off system restore and then schedule avast to do a
bootscan on reboot. Move all it finds to the chest.

Another thing I use is Ccleaner Slim and have it set to
run on every reboot, keeps all the junk files off.

If you had norton installed before avast, I would suggest
you D/L the uninstaller from their website, because as
long as they are on the PC, no AV or firewall will work
correctly

Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers

Well that might do the trick but it's only for a while. Try looking for a new Anti Virus
