I am thinking of installing Avast virus protection, it seems to be one of the best picks here, but I have a question....

A lot of times when installing programs, drivers etc, it says to turn off virus protection while installing the software, can you turn off Avast during this time, then turn back on????
I can remember one virus protection software you just could not turn off and seemed to create a problem when installing things.

it can be turned off easily by right clicking on the Avast icon near the clock and turning protection off.
