Hello All, Computer is clean of virii according to AVG in safe mode and in Normal. Had 3 trojans before this problem and manually deleted them and they are no longer detected. THe problem now is that all AV type sites come up "sorry, page cannot be displayed" ..other routing works just fine. I know there has to be some problem with a virus I just can't find it. NAV is running along with AVG (no problems there) and NAV cannot update or go to its homepage. From an earlier post on this issue I checked the HOSTS files and there are no hosts after 127.0.0.1 Local Host so that file is okay. Any other ideas on how to pin down this virus?

Thanks a ton!

Could you go online at all then? If you could download Adaware and customize the settings. Run a scan and remove what you find there. If any of them is familiar to you, I would suggest you try uninstalling them via the Add/Remove programs after you quarantined it with Adaware. Also delete the folder in C:\Program Files if it still exists.

The internet is accessible. The problem is that all AV type sites are not. Any time those types of sites are accessed the "page cannot be displayed" error is received. I have not tried adaware but i'll give it a whirl, but you were vague on some things Kevin 1) customize settings to do what? 2) uninstall what programs and their folders?

Thanks for the tip on adaware.

Drew

Kevin, I read your site and answered my previous posts question. I will email you a HJT log of the computer in question after running those tests in order. Hopefully you can help me out.
