Hello Kind and helpful people.

The problems came at me fast a furious...

First I noticed that my Avast Anti-virus wasn't working, then I noticed that my Sygate firewall wasn't working.

Upon closer inpsection I saw that the related services had been disabled and much of the program files had actually been deleted...rendering both programs useless.

I treid to re-install both. Avast seems to install fine...but when you look in the folder, many of the exe's are still missing. Sygate won't install at all...giving me an error 1034 saying I don't have access to that folder.

I promptly proceeded to reboot into safe mode to run some other anti-virus and spyware programs. No dice....BSOD. SO I can't boot into safe mode, but I can into normal mode.

I was ready to attack this on my own as I am fairly knowledgable on this stuff...but for this, I thought I would seek the help of some professionals. I have a HJT log ready to post if required.

Oh...and thanks in advance.

Ken

Did I do something wrong with my post? It's been 3 days since I posted with no responses. Should I just be more patient?
