Autorun.inf/Recycler virus from TVshack

November 20, 2010 at 19:16:40
Specs: Windows XP
From tvshack I have been infected by a autorun.inf and recycler virus. When I delete these files they reappear a few seconds later. Autorun.inf is present in my usb drives and a RECYCLER folder is present in all my drives. There is also a 'System Volume Information' hidden folder in my D: drive which is not accessible. Is it supposed to be there?

I was initially infected with a google links redirect virus (not sure if my usb was infected at the time) and after reformatting my laptop i noticed my usb had weird items which weren't in there before. Google links aren't redirecting anymore but now my laptop is extremely slow and occassionally Windows will alert me with a message saying 'Virtual memory minimum too low'.

I have tried using Malwarebytes Anti-Malware but it does not detect anything. I have also tried a series of other programs that are designed to get rid of the files mentioned above but they don't seem to work. I have tried using the command prompt but it doesn't seem to work.

Thanks in advance.

You could also give Autorun Eater a try:

Was i supposed to check only hidden files and folders? I did that and neither of them came up.

I tried Autorun Eater and it appears they have deleted the file but the Recycler folders remain and my laptop is still slow.
