automatic updates won't start

April 4, 2011 at 11:32:33
Specs: Windows Vista
Icon on bottom bar won't go away and keeps saying puter at risk click here to update and fix it.

When i do it has that option in red and when i click to change settings it says security centre can't do it and to do it manually. when i click to do that it comes back with the same message.

I click on update and it goes up to 11% and then stops and comes up with a fail message.

I have done a scan and got rid of 2 viruses, I have done a malware scan and all clear.
