Hi
Everybody knows that Microsoft releases frequent updates for their softwares / os related patches, which can be scheduled through the Automatic updates option in Xp /2000. Whenever we schedule it, it will automatically download and install the hotfixes. But The Microsoft Security Patches given for certain Malwares / Virus is not getting downloaded through this automatic updates. Is it possible to have a lan tool, where we can or automatically download these patches and push it for our domain user desktops on daily basis.
regards
Suriya

Everybody knows that Microsoft releases frequent updates...
Usually only on the second Tuesday of the month.
But The Microsoft Security Patches given for certain Malwares / Virus is not getting downloaded through this automatic updates
Are you talking about ...
Malicious Software Removal Tool
... that scan the PC and disappear without telling you anything?

No. not the malware software removal tool. Even i have downloaded and ran in desktops.
But recently i got a virus of w32.blast worm which wil initiate automatic shutdown in pcs once we log on. This has been removed once i applied two microsoft patches named 1.Windows2000-KB835732-x86-ENU and 2. Windows2000-KB921883-x86-ENU. This is a very old patch released in the microsoft security bulletins and the same has not been updated through the automatic updates. Iam taking about these kind of patches which has to be updated centrally at one location through a tool and then update it for lan users.regards
